About the event
The Francis-Lee Duo presents a programme of violin and piano repertoire spanning across 142 years. The programme opens with a sunny sonata by classical music’s favourite prodigy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, followed by another child prodigy and one of the most influential composers in Hollywood history, Eric Wolfgang Korngold. We return to Europe with Beethoven’s Sonata No. 8 for Violin & Piano, a joyful sonata composed during a deeply traumatic period in Beethoven’s life. The programme ends with the dazzling and youthful Folk Dances by Niels Gade.
